The compilation disc we are featured on, The Boston Eclectic received a favorable silver circle review in the March issue of The Noise.

After ten months of bopping around town to various rehearsal spaces our own space has finally re-opened. Ahhh, a place to call our home away from home...We have been practicing with a bass player and will soon make our official debut as a four-piece at the Baseball Tavern next month. More details on the way about this talented individual. In the meantime, catch our show at the Abbey Pub Stage on Friday, 3-09-07. We'll be playing from 7-9pm.

We have been busy breaking in new drummer, Benjamin Gruba of Paparazzi fame. Having only rehearsed twice with us he did a bang-up job at the Brandeis BBQ on 11-05-06. The listening party for the compilation cd, The Boston Eclectic has been rescheduled to November 1st at Great Scott in Allston from 7:30 - 9:30, off the B Line, the Harvard Ave stop. Please join us as we get a chance to listen to as well as meet some of the other artists featured on this project. We will be selling copies of this hot new disk so you may want to bring a little pocket money.

In other news...We are really pleased to have been featured recently on WFNX New England Product 101.7 and 92.1 FM. They played the song, "Woman and Man" from our debut release, Merging. Check out the show weekly on Sundays from 10-11pm to hear some of the region's best new local music. Please email FNX or call in a Freeways request to 781-595-WFNX.

On November 5th we will be spicing things up at Brandeis University for the Sophomore BBQ at the Castle.... this will be a great opportunity for us to really open it up live for the second years.

Moonlighting...Frank has been recording at Camp Street Studio with his other band, the Desolation Bells, mixing down songs for their debut release. True to his middle name, Paul Q. Kolderie is amazingly "quick" at getting those tracks cued up there.

After the Sky Bar Show on 10-04-06 club booker/ independent music promoter Anderson Mar liked our set so much that she booked us on the spot for a show in January, 2007 that plans to spotlight Boston area women in music! Details TBA.

Good news. Frank and I are busy in the studio working on some new songs. Nathan has decided to stay with the project, playing gigs with us whenever possible. Yeah! Our next show will be at the Middle East (Corner) on August 19th. We hope to squeeze in a show or two before that. Stay tuned.

Well, the main news is that our drummer, Nathan Wood is leaving the band. I want to thank Nathan for his huge contribution to this project. His deft and unique drum stylings have been key in helping to create our sound. His last show with us will take place during the final night of our May residency at the Abbey Lounge. If you don't get a chance to stop by you can still hear his work on our debut release, Merging.

5-12-06

At the beginning of May we moved into our new rehearsal space in Central Square, Cambridge. It is good to see some familiar faces again as many of the same artists and music professionals from our Fenway days have installed themselves there as well...Our residency at the Abbey Lounge is chugging right along. There are three Mondays left so please come by and catch a show or two. It's always free. Bartender Barry will hook you up with some libation...One of the best things about doing this residency is getting the chance to check out some of the other talent. In particular I was really caught off guard by the high, quirky vocals of guitarist Michael Leyden of Whistle Jacket who performed on Monday, May 8th.Their sweet, melodic pop, powered up by some great drum work was very soothing on the ears... It was also great to play on the same bill as the always bluesy and ribald True Margrit. Margrit Eichler is a good friend of mine from my San Francisco days. Margrit is currently continuing her east coast mini tour down to Connecticut and New York.

After taking a break from performing we will be returning to the limelight for a month long Monday night residency at the Abbey Lounge Pub Stage. There promises to be a huge variety of guest bands performing with us so please stop by and catch a show or two! Details will be listed shortly on the shows page.

3-06-06

Two more shows in the immediate future. Frank will be playing bass in his other band, Desolation Bells on 3-21-06 at the Abbey Lounge (main stage). There is a good chance that Karen may be guesting on lead vocals for one song during the DB's set. Stay tuned... We have another Freeways show on 3-26-06 at TT the Bears in Cambridge. Please visit the shows page for more details.

Looking ahead to the somewhat distant future...We will be hosting a Monday night residency at the Abbey Lounge Pub Stage in May. We are still looking for guest bands and solo artists to play as well. Anyone who is interested should contact Frank at fbutkus@gmail.com

The main news is the debut of of our 5 song ep, "Merging." This will be available to buy ($5) at our show at the Abbey Lounge Pub Stage on 2/20/06 and at all subsequent shows. Hope you can join us.

We have been busy gigging around Cambridge...In January we, along with many other musicians, were forced out of our (beloved?) rehearsal space in the Fenway. We are now practicing at a temporary space in Roxbury...Just posted: some video clips of our appearance on Danny Degug's "Be Live: Sunshine Foundation," on CCTV. What great fun that was!
